How to clip Roblox on PC
Updated 5 November 2026
Roblox is thousands of different experiences, and the clips are as varied: a finished obby stage, a jump scare in a horror game, a round won at the last second. Clippy records in the background, so when something funny or impressive happens you press one key and it is saved.
Clip Roblox in four steps
- Download Clippy and open it once. It sits in the tray from then on.
- Start Roblox. Clippy sees the game start and begins keeping the last minute in memory, with nothing to set up.
- When something happens worth keeping, press F8. That minute is saved as an MP4 named after the game and the time.
- Open the clip in Clippy to trim it, then press Share for a link, or export it vertical for TikTok, Shorts and Reels.
Roblox moments worth clipping
- Clearing the last stage of an obby after many tries.
- A jump scare in a horror experience and your reaction to it.
- Winning a round in a party or survival game on the last second.
- A funny physics glitch or a fall that went wrong.
- A rare item, pet or reward you finally got.
Good Clippy settings for Roblox
Most Roblox moments are short, and a minute keeps the run-up as well as the moment itself.
Roblox experiences are mostly light on fast camera movement, so 60 fps looks smooth and keeps files small.
Roblox clips usually go straight to friends on Discord, and this export keeps them under Discord's free upload limit (10 MB at the time of writing).
How Clippy records Roblox
Roblox often starts with Windows and keeps running in the background. Clippy does not hold on to it once you are playing something else, so your next game gets recorded instead.
Only the Roblox window is recorded, through Windows Graphics Capture. Nothing is injected into the game, and chat pop-ups from other apps stay out of the clip.
Sharing is up to you: clips stay on your disk until you press Share, and a link plays for anyone without an account. Too big for Discord? See sending clips under the size limit.
Questions
How do I clip Roblox on PC for free?
Install Clippy, open Roblox and play. Press F8 to save the last minute as an MP4. The recorder is free.
Can I record my voice in a Roblox clip?
Yes. Pick your mic in Settings. It is recorded on its own track, so you can turn it up, down or off in the editor.
Why does Clippy stop recording Roblox when I start another game?
Roblox often runs from the moment Windows starts. Clippy does not keep the recording on it once you are playing something else, so the game you are actually playing gets clipped.
