How to clip FiveM on PC

FiveM roleplay clips are about the scene: a traffic stop that goes off script, a chase through the city, a line nobody saw coming. Clippy follows FiveM from the launcher into the game and records in the background, so you press one key and the scene is saved.

Clip FiveM in four steps

Download Clippy and open it once. It sits in the tray from then on.
Start FiveM. Clippy sees the game start and begins keeping the last minute in memory, with nothing to set up.
When something happens worth keeping, press F8. That minute is saved as an MP4 named after the game and the time.
Open the clip in Clippy to trim it, then press Share for a link, or export it vertical for TikTok, Shorts and Reels.

Replay length 3 minutes

RP scenes take time to set up, and a longer buffer keeps the dialogue that leads to the payoff.

Frame rate 60 fps

Roleplay is more about talking than twitch aim, so 60 fps looks smooth and leaves memory for a longer replay.

Separate audio tracks On (Windows 11)

In-character voices from the game, your Discord call and your mic land on separate tracks, so out-of-character talk can be muted before you post.

How Clippy records FiveM

FiveM starts with its own launcher, which then hands off to the actual game. Clippy follows that hand-off, so it records the game and not the splash screen that opened first.

Only the game window is recorded, through Windows Graphics Capture, and nothing is injected into the game. If you run FiveM as administrator, Clippy works through a small helper Windows asks you to allow.

Can I cut out-of-character Discord chat from a FiveM clip?

On Windows 11 Discord is recorded on its own track, separate from the game. Mute it in the editor and the in-game voices stay.

How long a FiveM scene can Clippy keep?

You choose the replay length in Settings, and Settings shows how much memory it takes, so you can keep several minutes for long scenes.
