How to clip Valorant on PC
Updated 5 November 2026
Valorant rounds turn on a few seconds: a one tap through smoke, an ability combo that clears a site, a 1v3 with the spike ticking. Clippy keeps the last stretch of the match in memory while you play, so you press one key after the round and the clip is already on your disk as an MP4.
Clip Valorant in four steps
- Download Clippy and open it once. It sits in the tray from then on.
- Start Valorant. Clippy sees the game start and begins keeping the last minute in memory, with nothing to set up.
- When something happens worth keeping, press F8. That minute is saved as an MP4 named after the game and the time.
- Open the clip in Clippy to trim it, then press Share for a link, or export it vertical for TikTok, Shorts and Reels.
Valorant moments worth clipping
- A 1v3 or 1v4 clutch that ends with the spike defused or detonated.
- An ace, all five kills in one round, with the kill banner climbing.
- A flick headshot with an Operator or a Sheriff one tap.
- An ultimate or ability combo that clears a site before the team even peeks.
- A ninja defuse while the enemy team is still checking corners.
- An eco round where pistols take down a fully bought team.
Good Clippy settings for Valorant
A Valorant round with the spike planted rarely runs longer than this, so one press keeps the whole clutch from the first peek to the defuse.
Flicks and counter-strafes blur at lower frame rates, and Settings shows what Valorant is really delivering so you can check your PC keeps up.
Your mic is only recorded while the key is held, so clips carry your callouts and not your breathing between rounds, and the key still reaches Discord.
How Clippy records Valorant
Clippy records the Valorant window through Windows Graphics Capture, the capture built into Windows 10 and 11. It does not inject anything into the game process, and the encoder runs as a separate process on your graphics card.
Only the game window is recorded, so a Discord message or a browser tab never shows up in a clip. If Clippy ever misses Valorant, you can add it yourself in Settings.
Sharing is up to you: clips stay on your disk until you press Share, and a link plays for anyone without an account. Too big for Discord? See sending clips under the size limit.
