How to get Clippy Supporter for free

Updated 5 November 2026

You can get Clippy Supporter for free by inviting friends. When a friend you invited verifies their email you get 7 days of Supporter, when they share their first clip you get 30 more, and when they become a paying supporter you get another 30. Your friend gets 14 days too. Here is what Supporter includes and exactly how the invite rewards work.

What Clippy Supporter is

The Clippy recorder is free. Supporter is an optional extra for people who want more out of their clippy.gg account and the app. It costs from $2.99 a month on the support page, or you can earn it through invites.

50 GB of storage for shared clips, instead of the 5 GB a free account gets (only shared clips count).
Every theme.
Extra save sounds.
Filename templates.
Full Discord Rich Presence control.
Profile cosmetics.

Find your invite link

Every account has an invite link in the form clippy.gg/r/CODE. You can find yours in the Clippy app on Profile, and on the referrals page on clippy.gg. The invite page explains the programme.

There is a second way to invite people that needs no link at all. When someone gets Clippy from the "Get Clippy" button on a clip you shared, they count as your invite. Every clip you share is quietly working for you.

What you earn for each friend

Rewards come in three steps, and each step pays out separately.

Your friend verifies their email: you get 7 days of Supporter, plus 1 GB of storage.
Your friend shares their first clip: you get 30 more days of Supporter, plus 2 GB.
Your friend becomes a paying supporter: you get 30 days, plus 5 GB.

What your friend gets

Your friend gets 14 days of Supporter, plus 2 GB of storage, if they verify their email within 14 days of signing up. So it is worth telling them to verify straight away rather than leaving the email for later.

Verifying is also the step that starts your own rewards, so one reminder helps you both. Their 14 days give them every theme, and the extra save sounds, which is a good way for them to see what Supporter is like before deciding whether to pay for it.

The rules

To put the numbers together: one friend who verifies and then shares a clip earns you 37 days. If that friend later becomes a paying supporter, that is 67 days from one invite.

Days stack on top of Supporter you already have, so a new reward extends your time rather than restarting it.
You can earn up to 365 days per account in total.
Paying supporters earn storage instead of days.

How to earn the most days

The middle step pays the most for the least effort, so help your friends get to their first share. Clippy records by itself when a game starts and F8 saves the moment, so the first clip usually comes in their first session. Pressing Share uploads it and copies a link, which is the step that counts.

Copy your invite link from Profile in the app.
Send it to friends who play on Windows and would use clips.
Remind them to verify their email within 14 days, so you both get Supporter.
Share clips in your Discord servers: anyone who gets Clippy through the "Get Clippy" button counts as your invite.
Help new friends share their first clip for your 30 extra days.
